Combining powerful full-colour lasers with professional control software allowed SpectraFX to transform the church façade into a unique visual canvas, showcasing custom graphics and animations while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for attendees.

Custom Laser Graphics on a Church Landmark

For the event, SpectraFX deployed two 8-watt full-colour RGB laser systems, projecting customised graphics and animations directly onto the façade of Red Hill Catholic Church.

The display featured customer-supplied graphics and animations, creating a personalised visual experience tailored to the event. Using lasers to display logos, lettering, symbols and animated graphics offered a striking way to showcase meaningful content against the church building.

Unlike traditional projection systems, laser displays produce highly concentrated beams of light that can create crisp, vibrant graphics and colours when correctly designed for the surface and viewing conditions. This makes laser technology an exciting option for community celebrations, festivals, corporate events, cultural gatherings and special occasions where visual impact matters.

Advanced Laser Technology for Smooth Animation

The laser systems were controlled using Pangolin Beyond, professional laser show software that allows precise control over graphics, animation, colour and movement.

SpectraFX also utilised distributed scanning techniques to help share the scanning workload and improve graphic performance. This approach helped minimise visible flicker and supported a target rendering rate of more than 20 frames per second (FPS), contributing to smoother-looking animations and more comfortable viewing.

Careful programming and system configuration are essential when displaying detailed graphics, particularly when projecting text, logos and custom artwork onto architectural surfaces.
